Mango Shrikhand





This is mango shrikhand, in a slightly twisted way. I always try to add some personal touch to the known recipes. 

Ingredients:

Plain yoghurt / curd  - 3 cups
Brown sugar - 6/7 tablespoons 
Sweet ripe mangoes -  3 ( peel and blend in mixi to make pulp)
Dates - 8/10
Broken cashew pieces - 3 tablespoons (or any chopped nut of your choice)
1 ripe mango - cut into small cubes

Method :

  • Hang the yoghurt in a clean muslin cloth for a few hours to drain the water from it completely.

  • Mix the brown sugar with this hung curd using a fork. The mixture should be very smooth with no lumps.

  • Now mix the mango pulp with this mixture. 

  • Chop the dates in small pieces.

  • Add the nuts and dates to the curd mixture and mix well. 

  • Pour the mixture in a serving bowl.

  • Garnish with mango pieces.

  • Chill and serve.
